Holy jesus, they use python for connecting clients to servers? No wonder there is a TON of lag...
There are a million better frameworks for connecting via C / C++.
Off topic... You can use optimized C code in python...

Day 2: Client still Hangs after splash screen before log in screen. Does not crash, and does not generate a minidump file. I do not have netlimiter installed. This occurs on both of my computers running different operating systems, and even occurs in my virtual machine which generally bypasses all the software install on my computer.
I do however have a petition that has received a cookie cutter response...

Edited by: John JacobSr on 19/08/2010 16:37:11 Well i've gotten a bit further. I was having the hang at splash screen before getting to the log in screen issue. I disabled my network card on my computer and now I can get to the log in screen... Of course there is no internet connection and even when I re-enable my nic it does no good.... "checking Status"
Edit: Updating NIC drivers did not change the results.

Lucky me, I would guess that my program cyberpatrol could also be interfering with Eve; however, uninstalling it is not an option.

(quote) GM Retrofire Sent - 8/20/2010 10:50:00 PM Hi.
I installed CyberPatrol on my end to test this out and it seems that it does the same, I tried every filter available but it didn't allow me to start up EVE under any circumstances even with all filters off and all programs allowed. Closing down CyberPatrol did not help either, I had to completely uninstall it before it allowed me to start EVE up again.
I'll notify the developers on my findings so they can further investigate.

Well it looks like this is causing my problem of not being able to get past the splash screen to the login screen. We will see how long it takes them to patch this.

Hurray the next mass testing.... Wait, I still can't even play. Any projections on when you are going to fix the network stacking problems? AkA, the problems caused by having firewalls, anti-viri, and other random network monitoring software. Just so we are clear, the problems caused by this last patch.

Originally by: sunstryykar I was having issues Eve crashing before the Logon screen. My issue was Netnanny. I uninstalled netnanny and EVE works now. I need to keep netnanny installed for my kids but at least now I know what the issue is.
Attn. Sunstryykar.
I also have netnanny installed and I havnt been able to use eve for the past few days because of the same issue. However, I went into the program appliaction exceptions and added EXEFILE.EXE. All capped because the exefile.exe is DIFFERENT from eve.exe. I did not realize this until I was browsing through my eve install folder and found the exefile.exe inside of the BIN folder. I would encourage you to add exefile.exe to your application exceptions as it fixed the problem for me.
Good Luck!
Yup. This worked for me. And I can keep NetNanny running. Thanks a bunch, Lumpyman!
Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. I use Cyberpatrol a program very similar to netnanny.

Try the fallback patch locatedhere.
I'm so happy I could kiss you... Well maybe not that much; however, Singularity patch solved the problems my computer was having. I had the same problems with the patch and repair tools. I just downloaded the whole patch manually and it worked.

Still waiting for at least an ETA on the patch passing singularity tests and being moved over to tranquility. (To fix the network stacking issues).

Regrettably I failed to follow this and put a long enough skill in. Which is my own fault. I don't think they should give any sp out for this. The part that makes me irritated is losing vacation time from work and school and not making isk and increasing standings with all my pilots.
